The Community Writing Center Interested in improving your writing skills? Learn how to write effective resumes, cover letters, scholarship essays, school writing assignments, family histories, and more. The Community Writing Center at the Orem Public Library provides FREE writing resources for people of all ages from the Utah Valley community. Funded through a grant from the Center for Engaged Learning at Utah Valley University (UVU), the Community Writing Center will offer personalized coaching sessions, providing focus and direction on written content, proofreading, and writing techniques. Group workshops will run approximately 45 minutes and will include presentations, demonstrations, and practice of specific writing principles. These workshops will be instructed by UVU’s writing coaches and faculty members. Topic suggestions and special interests are welcomed. Reception and Ribbon Cutting: February 10, 11:00 am – 12:00 noon Orem City Council Chambers / 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah Public Open House: February 10, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm Community Writing Center, housed in the Orem Public Library, South Wing Basement Spring hours for one-on-one sessions begin Monday, February 13, 2012: Monday — 2 pm to 7 pm Tuesday — 2 pm to 7 pm Thursday — 2 pm to 7 pm Friday — 12 noon to 4 pm Closed Sundays and holidays.
